Last week, our team traveled to Columbus, Ohio for the 2025 AGC Annual Convention, where we were honored to receive second place in the AGC Construction Safety Excellence Award, a national recognition of outstanding safety performance in our industry. We are proud to be members of and represent the Chicago Associated General Contractors (Chicagoland AGC) and are grateful for the opportunity to compete alongside so many impressive peers. The day featured presentations from the top three finalists in each category, and we extend our congratulations to all who placed. 🚨New company initiative alert🚨 When we heard Curran Group was launching a company-wide focus to “Strengthen the Core,” we jumped into action—literally. Planks in the hallway. Russian twists by the copier. Crunches between conference calls. Walking pads at our stand-up desks. We even considered swapping out office chairs for yoga balls. Do you ever feel nostalgic at times? We do too. We like to call it #DiggingIntoThePast with Curran. It is our way of looking back on the projects that helped shape who we are today. Here is one we will never forget: 8 Mile Illinois Tollway Reconstruction The Illinois State Highway Authority tasked Curran with an eight-mile reconstruction of Interstate I-90, transforming a four-lane stretch into a six-lane modern expressway. The project included a permanent concrete median barrier wall and new roadway lighting. Completed within two construction seasons, the scope involved removing existing pavement and shoulders, earth excavation and grading, and constructing three new lanes of concrete pavement in each direction. To increase sustainability, the original asphalt and concrete were salvaged and reused in the new highway. We were honored to be recognized as “Roadway Contractor of the Year” by the Illinois Tollway. #CurranContractingCompany #BuildingTomorrowTogether #RoadBuilders #IllinoisTollway #IDOT
