About us
After spending over 15 years traveling nationally and internationally, owner and founder Chef Antwon Brinson created Culinary Concepts AB to serve as a beacon of hope for those who might aspire to a career in hospitality but who might otherwise have been overlooked. By creating a more inclusive training model and by teaching life skills in addition to occupational skills, Culinary Concepts AB opens opportunities for many who may never have been able to access a career in the culinary arts. Our programs help individuals recognize and connect their lived experiences to goals through our life skills and social training. We give students the tools to succeed in life and the kitchen. We teach these skills through the lens of hospitality and culinary arts. Culinary Concepts AB works with public and private organizations to develop custom programs that leverage the culinary arts to teach both occupational and life-changing soft skills. Our partners range from hospitals and private schools to municipalities and criminal justice systems. By partnering with Culinary Concepts AB, employers have the opportunity to do more than hire new employees. We offer employer partners the opportunity to invest in students who want a career and to be part of a team.

GO Cook is coming to Richmond! 🙌 After 20 successful cohorts and more than 80 graduates in Charlottesville, GO Cook—our flagship culinary training program—is expanding to Richmond for the first time this May through a partnership with Reynolds Community College. #GOCook is a 7-week experience combining hands-on culinary instruction, soft skills development, and industry-recognized certifications to prepare participants for careers in food and hospitality. The program will be held at the Kitchens at Reynolds and is open to anyone 18 and over—no prior experience needed. The first Richmond cohort kicks off in mid-May. This initiative empowers nonviolent offenders with culinary skills, essential life resources, certifications, and job connections, thereby reducing the likelihood of repeat offenses and facilitating their successful reintegration.
