🎤 From Dream to Reality: Pitching at University of Colorado Boulder! Never imagined I’d be on stage at CU Boulder talking about my company — a true dream come true. 🙌 ✨ I had the chance to talk to 211 registered students about my company and connect with some incredible talent! ✨ A full circle moment: Just a few years ago, I was sitting in their shoes, trying to land my first internship. Fast forward to today, and one conversation with a student changed everything. 💥 🔑 The most inspiring moment of the day: I spoke with a student who had a patent-pending product and dreams of starting her own company. I asked, “Where do you see yourself in 5 years? And if you were to *touch on wood* die in 2 years, what would you want to do?” Her answer was amazing! She doesn't need a job — she needs to triple down on her idea and go build her future. 💡 I convinced her to take the leap and start her company now. The experience and opportunities she'll gain will be ten times more valuable than working for someone else. 🔹 Big thanks to University of Colorado Boulder and Dylan Mark for making this opportunity possible. Grateful for the chance to connect with such brilliant minds and share my journey! PS: That pic where I have my arms crossed? Don’t worry, I’m just really focused on the conversation #Startups2Students #Mentorship #Innovation #CUboulder #DreamBig #EntrepreneurLife

CU's Queer in Career panel tonight was so inspiring!! Thank you Neda Kikhia, M.A. and Kate Ufer for inviting me to be one of the panelists. It was a great event! Here are some key takeaways that I want to share out for all job seekers: 🌈 Don't be afraid to reach out to a potential mentor, connection at a company, potential internship site, etc.! And if you don't hear back after emailing them or sending a LinkedIn message, reach out again—chances are your email just got lost in an overflowing inbox. The worst that someone can say to your request is "no," which is the same result as not reaching out at all, so go for it! 🌈 If you're in a job that isn't a good fit, that isn't someplace where you can be your authentic self, remember the power of your mindset. Remind yourself of what this temporary situation is doing for you (a paycheck, skill-building, etc.) and that you are not defined by it. This is called cognitive job crafting and really does make a difference for getting through a less desirable situation. 🌈 Doing company research to find affirming employers is harder in 2025 than it has been in the past. If a company has pulled down information about employee resource groups (ERGs), health benefits, DEI initiatives, etc., it doesn't necessarily mean that these resources and activities have ended. And if a company has stopped participating in the Corporate Equality Index, it doesn't necessarily mean that their policies that earned them a given score in the past have changed. It's going to be harder to dig for this information than it used to be, so it's important to put the work in to connect with current employees and/or to ask the recruiter/interviewer. The thing I would emphasize is that you don't want to rule out an option entirely just because you don't know if it's a good fit, rather than knowing for sure that it isn't.

  • 💌 4 Ways to Stay Motivated During Your Job Search Searching for a job or internship can be stressful, especially if you’re not hearing back from employers. When you don’t get responses from your applications, it can feel like being ghosted. It is normal to want closure even if it is just a simple “no.” There are many reasons you might not hear back. Recruiters may not have time to review every application, they may not be able to respond to every candidate, or your application may not have made it past the applicant tracking system (ATS). Whatever the reason, it’s important to remember that a lack of response does not define you or the quality of your work.  If you’re struggling with the uncertainty of the job search process, here are a few ways to prioritize your mental health and stay motivated: https://lnkd.in/grwaCGs7
