  • We love it, when solo moms by choice share their story. It's not always easy, but it might just be the best decision you can ever make for yourself. At Cryos, we are always striving for openness and awareness when it comes to fertility, family structures, and the dream of becoming a parent. We believe everyone deserves the right to fulfil their dream of having a child. Breaking taboos and spreading awareness is a great way to create more acceptance of alternative family forms and donor conception. Video by https://lnkd.in/gp5iQbVc

  • ID Release Donors are still the most popular choice for most Cryos customers ordering donor sperm✅ In 2024, 72% of customers purchasing donor sperm at Cryos chose an ID Release Donor with either a Basic Profile or an Extended Profile. This number has been relatively stable for the past couple of years. This could be the case due to especially two factors. The first is that most countries allowing the use of certain types of donors are prohibiting the use of Non-ID Release Donors, causing customers in the given country to automatically choose an ID Release Donor. The second factor is that there could be a tendency towards a wish for more information and openness when using a sperm donor to conceive. • "Between the ages of 4 and 9, donor-conceived children in solo mother families generally seem to be doing well," says Dr Sophie Zadeh about the new study on children's perspectives in solo mother families led by her. "In general, our findings seem to suggest that what matters most for children's outcomes in solo mother families is not the absence of a father, nor donor conception, but the quality of parenting, and positive parent-child relationships." • Update yourself on the latest research within fertility ⚗️ Meet our Scientific Team. Every year, they publish several scientific studies touching upon different aspects of the field of fertility. Here are some of our most popular studies: 👉 Recent decline in sperm motility among men in Denmark: https://lnkd.in/d8NsU9np 👉 Attitudes of sperm donors in Denmark and the United States: https://lnkd.in/d3Dkrdnx 👉 Understanding how aging affects mutations in men's sperm https://lnkd.in/dgb8PA83 Get the full overview of our studies here: https://lnkd.in/draNwA_2

  • Is semen quality associated with men's lifespan? According to this newly published Danish study, it is. An impressive study based on 78.284 men who had their semen quality assessed between 1965 and 2015 recently pointed out a connection between life expectany and sperm quality: 📈 Men with a total motile sperm count above 120 million could expect to live almost 3 years longer than men with a count between 0 and 5 million. • Understanding how and why mutations in men's sperm occur is crucial for improving our understanding of genetics and reducing the risks of inherited diseases. In a new groundbreaking study, researchers at Cryos in collaboration with other scientists found a way to track how sperm mutations in men change over time. The study gives a deeper understanding of how aging affects the genetic material in men's sperm and how this can impact future generations. By studying sperm mutations directly over time, researchers can now better understand the link between paternal age and genetic disorders. This could lead to improved genetic testing and counselling for men considering having children later in life, as well as new ways to predict and prevent genetic diseases. • How did Denmark become the world's sperm capital? 🤔 Perhaps best known for H.C. Andersen’s fairytales, “hygge”, and the iconic LEGO brick, Denmark was recently called the sperm capital of the world. But how did a small country of fewer than 6 million people become the world’s largest supplier of donor sperm with deliveries to more than 100 countries worldwide? Hint: it has to do with, among other things, hygge, volunteerism, and trust. And maybe a touch of pure coincidence? To find the answer, dive into the article in Cryos Magazine.
