Sleep is Your Superpower 💤 💪 I recently had the opportunity to join Family Health Matters on WGVU with host Shelley Irwin and Rachel VanDyke, NP from Holland Hospital to talk about one of the most underrated performance enhancers out there—sleep. After working with 1,000's of athletes and business leaders at Coya, we see evidence that #sleep is very underrated by most people. It’s when your body restores itself physically and mentally, impacting everything from muscle recovery and focus to longevity. Our bodies were designed to get 7-9 hours of sleep per night, yet so many of us fall short. Here’s why that matters: 🚨 Poor sleep increases the risk of heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, Alzheimer's, and dementia. 📈 Sleep affects both quality of life and quantity of life—if you want to perform at your best & and for the longest, sleep isn’t optional. Key sleep KPIs include: 1. HRV (Heart Rate Variability) – A critical indicator of recovery 2. Sleep Quantity – Are you getting enough hours? 3. % of Restorative Sleep – The deep and REM sleep phases that matter most Want better sleep? Here are three tips: ✅ Keep your bedtime and wake time the same—even on weekends ✅ Build a pre-sleep routine—your body thrives on habits ✅ You can’t improve what you don’t measure. Tracking sleep with tools like ŌURA, WHOOP, or Garmin is the best way to start optimizing it. Improving sleep doesn’t just help you feel better—it helps you perform, think, and live better. Let’s start treating it like the superpower it is. What’s one sleep habit that’s helped you the most? Drop it in the comments! ⬇️ #Productivity #Health #Entrepreneur

FOR EVERY MILE YOU SEND A STUDENT ATHLETE TO COMPETE AND REPRESENT YOUR CONFERENCE, YOU SHOULD HAVE TO SPEND A DOLLAR TO SUPPORT THE EFFECT THAT TRAVEL HAS ONE THEM. Conferences line up to expand their presence and media rights, but who will be the first to line up and actually put their athletes wellbeing first? THAT would be the conference I would want my child to represent. It was so incredible to see Coya Co Founder and CEO, Jason Mejeur, on TV talking about the importance of SLEEP, RECOVERY and TRAVEL in athletics. I am grateful for all the schools prioritizing this and leading from the front (even BEFORE conference realignment) like our partners at Wake Forest University, University of Miami, The University of Alabama, Creighton University, Michigan State University among others, BUT these coaches, athletes and teams DID NOT choose their conference expansion (because none of them like it and none would have signed up for it) and they should not have the burden of financially trying to support the athletes who now have to just "deal with this". Sorry, rant over (for now).

Building Companies for Generational Community Impact

One of the biggest challenges that I have faced in the past few years is balancing the demands of work and home with my own personal health. After years of trying my own thing and not exactly thriving, I decided to dive in to learn more about what works for others and how I can use science to make these changes. Jason Mejeur and his team at Coya led our group through an intense / data packed journey to understanding how sleep, nutrition, hydration, and so on impact our ability to show up at our best for our family and our work. Most importantly, they helped me develop and maintain new habits that feel much more sustainable in real life than any approach I have tried before. If you aren't familiar, the Coya app has been a revelation - it seamlessly integrates with my wearable device, providing me with actionable insights to improve my well-being. I cannot more strongly recommend this program for individuals or businesses who are wanting to grow / learn how to create more balance in their work and for their bodies. If anyone wants to know more about how this program has impacted my life, please DM me and I am more than willing to share.

Over the last 12 weeks, you took on making both big and small changes in your lives that added up to a larger capacity to handle stress, more energy, and, as you can see below, better overall sleep. Yes, you moved the needle during this program...but more importantly, you now have the keys to control your health and wellness in the next phase of your journey. We're cheering for you and are pumped to have you as a part of the Coya community. Yesterday was a special day for me. It was a true honor to speak to largest gathering of youth sports leaders in the US. As a son of two coaches, the brother of three coaches, a coach myself and most importantly the father of three kids - I believe in the power and importance of youth sports. Thank you to Brian Litvack Jeremy Goldberg and the entire amazing LeagueApps team for the opportunity to run a Coya cohort to support these leaders. If you are in the business of youth sports #NextUpConference is an ABSOLUTE MUST. #nextup2024
