Blackstone and Crow Holdings said Thursday that core-plus funds affiliated with Blackstone Real Estate have agreed to acquire a 95% stake in an industrial portfolio developed by Crow Holdings for $718 million. Amazon is considering a $15-billion warehouse expansion plan that would add nearly 80 new logistics facilities in U.S. cities and rural areas, Bloomberg News reported Wednesday. Mere hours after imposing a range of tariffs on global trade partners, President Trump, via a Truth Social post, declared a 90-day pause on the “reciprocal” import duties, effective immediately, while raising tariffs on China to 125%. This followed his April 2 “Liberation Day” tariff plan, which set a 10% baseline tariff on all import and higher reciprocal tariffs on about 60 nations, including a 104% total on China (combining prior duties). Demand for senior housing is at an all-time high, according to the National Investment Center for Seniors Housing & Care (NIC). U.S. occupancy rates increased 0.3 percentage points to 87.4% in the first quarter of 2025, with the number of occupied senior housing units setting a new record at nearly 621,000. The multifamily and single-family rental sectors both posted rent gains in March, Yardi Matrix reported. Both segments saw monthly increases averaging $5 in advertised asking rents, while on an annualized basis, advertised asking rents were up by 0.4%.
