Wow...what a night!🪩We had an unforgettable time at Friday Night Fever, Second Harvest Food Bank’s biggest fundraiser of the year, held at ArtsQuest on April 4th. We’re so grateful to the 220+ community members, food justice advocates, sponsors, government officials, and volunteers who showed up ready to party - and did so in style with their best disco-inspired looks! Thanks to your incredible support, we raised over $100,000 to help fight food insecurity across our six-county region. The evening featured inspiring remarks from Emcee Ashley Russo, Community Action Lehigh Valley's Executive Director Dawn Godshall, and veteran advocate Christopher Yarnell, CPS. We were also proud to officially introduce Sarah Wassel as our new Associate Executive Director of the Food Bank. A huge thank you to SHFB’s Development Team: Joanne Anderson, Jill Davis, and Ferzana Ramin for all their hard work planning this incredible event. And thank you to our guests for making the night truly special, from bidding on cakes to filling the dance floor! The CALV team recently sat down with Nathan Gerace, Northeast Director for U.S. Senator David McCormick. We discussed some of the challenges our communities are facing and shared our concerns during this time of uncertainty in Washington. We’re hopeful for continued collaboration with Senator McCormick and his team as we work to meet the needs of the Lehigh Valley and beyond.
