On April 1 we celebrated the grand opening of our newest Texas MedClinic Urgent Care (no joke!) at 19055 IH 35 in Kyle, TX. Kyle is a fast-growing town between Austin and San Antonio, and the new clinic will make it easier for communities along the IH35 corridor to get high-quality, compassionate healthcare without driving into one of the busy neighboring cities. It’s always such a privilege to open a new clinic. We love being able to improve access to medical care, create new jobs and welcome the smiling faces of new patients and teammates to the Community Care Partners family. For that we are grateful to the Texans who have placed their trust in us for more than 40 years, and to the incredible team whose hard work and determination made opening this new clinic possible. Women make up about 80% of the medical workforce in the United States today. Although still underrepresented as physicians and upper management, the field would be considerably poorer without them. For that, we can thank the many women whose determination in the face of prejudice, discrimination and hostility led to better healthcare for all of us. Such women have changed the face of medicine — from Elizabeth Blackwell, M.D. and Rebecca Lee Crumpler, M.D., the first woman and first African American woman, respectively, to receive medical doctorates in the U.S., to Virginia Apgar, M.D., who created the scale still used to assess newborn health, to scientists Jennifer Doudna and Emmanuelle Charpentier, who won the 2020 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for their discovery of the CRISPR-Cas9 gene-editing technology. We hope you’ll join all of us at Community Care Partners in recognizing their groundbreaking contributions this Women’s History Month. Just as importantly, we want to recognize the women, past and present, whose work as nurses, physician assistants, doctors, medical assistants, and other medical and business professionals may not be in history books but has improved innumerable lives. Without them, Community Care Partners would not exist, and they have our respect and gratitude. #womenshistorymonth #womenshistory #womeninmedicine #weareccp

The clinical teams at all four CCP clinic brands know that people aren’t thrilled to have to go to urgent care. They understand it’s a bummer being sick enough to need us and they work hard to make patients feel welcome, comfortable and cared for. We’re proud to have such dedicated, kindhearted team members, who often get comments like these from patients who are surprised at just how much better urgent care can be: “My daughter was sick the day before her birthday and the staff gave her a handwritten birthday card and a goodie bag of toys and snacks! They are always so nice and attentive — and see us quickly!” –Coastal Urgent Care, Haughton, LA “I absolutely DESPISE the flu and covid testing process and getting blood drawn. I try to avoid going to the doctor because of this! Thankfully, everyone at this office is lovely, but Bianca is phenomenal. She did every test without traumatizing me [and]…I will be requesting her to do the swabbing and the poking EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.” – Texas MedClinic Urgent Care, Blanco, TX “This was my first time going here. I was seen right away and was very well taken care of. The staff was super friendly and clearly concerned for my well-being. I will not be returning to my former urgent care provider.” – BestMed Urgent Care, Gillette, WY “We are on vacation and I got bit by an insect. They were so nice and sweet and took care of me. It didn't matter [that] we weren't from Louisiana. And we didn't wait long…maybe 10 minutes.” – SouthStar Urgent Care, New Iberia (Admiral), LA #urgentcare #reviewsmatter #wearecp

Black History Month is a time to honor the contributions and sacrifices of Black Americans that have helped shape our nation. It’s also a reminder to recognize that Black people’s struggle for freedom and equal opportunities — including health — is not over. Black people experience health disparities rooted in a long history of racism and discrimination. At Community Care Partners, our business model addresses one of the most detrimental of these disparities: lack of access to care. Our walk-in format, multiple locations and extended hours lower barriers to accessing medical attention, and we’re committed to ensuring our Black patients feel heard, respected and believed when they turn to us for help. We encourage everyone in the healthcare community to reflect on the mistrust created by past medical injustices. By learning from them, examining personal and systemic biases, and pledging to do better, we can all work to improve Black America’s access to and experience and outcomes of care. #blackhistorymonth #patientcare #urgentcare #weareccp
