Just wrapped up a visit to the ASU West Valley campus today! My mentee gave me a wonderful tour of the CommLabASU at Arizona State University and the One Button Studio—such innovative resources! If you’re looking for a space to record a presentation, webinar, podcast, or more, the One Button Studio (https://lnkd.in/gpPq3gkH) is available to faculty, staff, and students. What a game-changer for producing professional content with ease! 🎥🎙️ ✨Feeling grateful for opportunities to work with others across ASU and see the incredible opportunities available to our community. ✨ #ASUWestValley #MentorshipMatters #InnovationInEducation

Director of Learning Enterprise (LE) and Community Engagement for New College of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences at Arizona State University

FWOCC encourages women of color to build communities of care where respect, inclusion, trust, and empowerment through self reflection and healing become the strength to continue walking and questioning power's continuous impulse to contain, to limit mobility, to restrict freedoms, and wear out our ability to resist. It will be my privilege to be a part of this counterspace where Women of Color walk together questioning and find solutions that lead us to take creative action to mobilize and resist in community.

Cathy Cayetano is stepping into a new role as Vice President of the Faculty Women of Color Caucus (FWOCC) for the upcoming academic year. 🌟 Cathy's dedication to inclusivity and representation in SSBS is truly inspiring. From sparking meaningful dialogues to promoting authentic mentorship strategies, she's a force for positive change. Let's celebrate Cathy's commitment to uplifting BIPOC and WOC communities! 👏 #ASUNewCollege #NewYouNewCollege #ArizonaStateUniversity #ASUWestValley #Innovation #HigherEducation #ASU #BeYouBeNew #NewCollegeSuccess

Yesterday I had the absolute honor of serving as the keynote speaker for the National Association of Communication Centers (NACC) conference which was hosted by the CommLabASU at Arizona State University! I got to speak about how important a sense of #belonging/#connection is to #resilience, and how #communication is a vital conduit for establishing communities that can support student belonging! I spoke about my own journey, which has been heavily influenced by incredible communities and mentors, and I of course threw in information about my favorite microbes: #tardigrades (they are the most resilient organisms, you know!). I would not be where I am today without the love and support of many, and I was honored for the opportunity to initiate conversations of how we can serve each and every one of our students similarly. The CommLabASU is such a beautiful demonstration of how effective organizations can be if they center community — everyone who is a part of the CommLab feels the love. A huge part of this is the former executive director, Bonnie Wentzel, who created the community which is now perpetuated wonderfully by her former mentee and successor, Kenneth Kunkel! My family is a huge, HUGE part of me and I really wanted them to be able witness this exciting experience (how often do you get to be a keynote speaker!?!). Ken made sure that they could join remotely via Zoom, which is just another example of how the CommLabASU truly understands the meaning of community. 🩷 thank you so much, Ken, for this opportunity. It truly is a highlight of my life.
