Happy World Quantum Day from all of us at Infleqtion! This year’s celebration is especially meaningful — we’re honoring 100+ years of breakthroughs in quantum science and technology. As a company born from this legacy, we’re proud to be part of the next wave of quantum innovation. Let’s take a moment to look back at some of the defining moments in quantum history: 🧠 1925 – Quantum Mechanics Formalized Heisenberg’s matrix mechanics and Schrödinger’s wave mechanics lay the groundwork for modern quantum theory. 🌀 1935 – The EPR Paradox Einstein, Podolsky, and Rosen challenge quantum entanglement, igniting decades of quantum debate. 🔌 1947 – Invention of the Transistor Bardeen, Brattain, and Shockley develop the transistor, transforming electronics with quantum principles. 📏 1964 – Bell’s Theorem John Bell formulates his famous inequalities, proving the non-local nature of entanglement. 🔬 1970s – Quantum Optics & Laser Cooling Pioneering work opens the door for manipulating individual atoms. 🔗 1982 – Entanglement Proven Alain Aspect’s experiments confirm entanglement, validating Bell’s theorem. 🧮 1994 – Shor’s Algorithm A quantum leap for computing—Shor shows how quantum computers could break classical encryption. 🧪 1995 - First BEC Eric Cornell and Carl Wieman at JILA in Boulder, Colorado, create the first Bose-Einstein Condensate — a major leap in quantum experimentation 🌡️ 2007 – The Birth of ColdQuanta CU Boulder’s Dana Anderson founds ColdQuanta (now Infleqtion), advancing the science of ultra-cold atoms. ⚛️ 2010 - First Neutral Atom Quantum Gate Mark Saffman’s research group at the University of Wisconsin successfully demonstrates the first quantum gate using Rydberg atoms. 🇬🇧 2024 – A New Milestone Infleqtion demonstrates the largest neutral atom array in the UK, moving us closer to scalable quantum computing. We’re proud to stand on the shoulders of giants while building the future of quantum. Here’s to another century of discovery! #WorldQuantumDay #QuantumTechnology #Infleqtion #QuantumComputing #QuantumHistory
