Ohio libraries are facing cuts from the Ohio House of Representatives’ budget proposal eliminating the Public Library Fund (PLF) for a lump sum amount. Anthony Parnther started playing the bassoon as an effort to visit a local amusement park, now the instrument has shaped his entire career! The highly acclaimed conductor and bassoonist behind Black Panther and hundreds of other film scores recently shared his journey at our Black Panther: The Panther Prelude event. From his deep love of film music to his efforts in increasing diversity in classical music, his story is a powerful reminder of passion and perseverance, which charmed the audience! He spoke passionately about the magic of collaboration in creating something truly beautiful. As the Music Director (and shape-shifter) of the San Bernardino Symphony Orchestra, Anthony shared his dedication to increasing diversity in the classical music world. Hailed as "the quintessential L.A. musician of our day" and "Hollywood's go-to conductor," he also reflected on his upbringing and the sacrifices his parents made to help him succeed.
