🌊💙 What an incredible International Coastal Cleanup Day! Together with the The Brady Hunter Foundation and VolunteerCleanup.Org, 185 amazing volunteers helped us remove 3,178 lbs of trash from the Julia Tuttle Causeway in Miami. We found 3 shopping carts, 1 tire, a big fish aggregation device, way too much styrofoam, and an ocean of plastic bottles 🌍. Huge thank you to Duncan Robinson from Miami HEAT for coming out and leading by example. 🏀👏 The change starts at home—we must change our habits and switch to reusables. Every small action adds up, and together, we can make a difference for our oceans! 🌿 A special shoutout to our partners & supporters Ralph Lauren World Centric U.S. Department of Homeland Security German American Business Chamber of South Florida US Border Patrol German Consulate General in Miami US Border Patrol Lawrence J. Weller, CFP®, ChFC® City of Miami Beach 🚀 Massive shoutout to VolunteerCleanup.Org for organizing 71 cleanups for International Coastal Cleanup day, gathering 3,615 volunteers, and picking up 25,082 pounds of debris that will be prevented from polluting our oceans and waterways! 🚀 #CleanOurCoasts #InternationalCoastalCleanupDay #Volunteering #miamicleanup2024 #icc #internationalcoastalcleanupday #internationalcoastalcleanupday #oceanconservancy #teamocean

New York Times!!
🎉 Exciting News Alert! 🎉 I'm absolutely thrilled to share some incredible news🌟 It has always been a dream of mine to be featured in The New York Times, and I'm overjoyed to announce that this dream has finally become a reality! Pinch me! Clean Miami Beach was featured in not only their digital publication but in print as well. Titled "Balloons are some of the deadliest ocean trash for wildlife," my work and advocacy efforts were highlighted alongside crucial discussions about environmental conservation and the protection of marine life. For years, I've been deeply committed to the cause of preserving our planet and safeguarding its delicate ecosystems. I've witnessed firsthand the devastating impact of plastic pollution on Florida's wildlife and coastal areas. The article underscores the urgent need for action to address the threat posed by plastic balloon debris, which can have catastrophic consequences for marine life. It's a reminder of the critical importance of advocating for policies and initiatives that promote sustainability and protect our natural resources. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has supported me on this journey and believed in the power of collective action to effect positive change. Your encouragement and dedication inspire me every day to continue striving for a healthier, more sustainable future for generations to come. As we celebrate this milestone together, let's recommit ourselves to the cause of environmental conservation and work tirelessly to protect our planet for future generations. Together, we can make a difference! 🌍💚 #TheNewYorkTimes #EnvironmentalAdvocacy #Sustainability #CleanMiamiBeach https://lnkd.in/eke_WGei

🌊🌴 April Recap 🌴🌊 What a whirlwind month it's been for Clean Miami Beach! April was nothing short of extraordinary as we worked tirelessly to keep our beloved shores pristine. 🧹✨ With the sun shining brighter and the beach calling out to locals and tourists alike, our team was out in full force, conducting cleanups practically every other day throughout the month. From sunrise to sunset, we were dedicated to maintaining the beauty of Miami Beach for everyone to enjoy. 🏖️♻️ But that's not all – April brought exciting new opportunities for us to make an even bigger impact! We hosted our very first Trash Challenge virtual event, rallying our community to join hands (virtually, of course!) in the fight against ocean pollution. It was inspiring to see so many individuals come together, passionate about preserving our marine ecosystems. 🐠🌍 And the cherry on top? We're thrilled to announce that we've secured the incredible opportunity to represent Miami Beach in Washington D.C. for Ocean Week! 🌊🏛️ It's a chance for us to amplify our message on a national stage, advocating for cleaner oceans and sustainable practices that benefit us all. We can't wait to share our experiences and continue building partnerships that drive positive change. None of this would be possible without the unwavering support of our community, volunteers, and partners. Together, we're proving that small actions lead to big results, and that every effort to protect our environment matters.
