Brighten up your Friday with an Employee Spotlight! 🌟 This month, we're highlighting ClassLinker Gary Parks! Learn more about how Gary is making a difference at ClassLink and beyond 💙 ❓ Tell us your ClassLink story! 💬 I started my career in IT support, first with corporations including Mercedes Benz and Merrill Lynch, and later as the owner of my own small business. The business started as a software company writing software to assist state childcare treatment contractors in tracking and treating the children and young adults in their care. State priorities changed, and I was forced to pivot to small business IT support. Eventually, I shut down the company and went to work full-time as a support technician for a K-12 school in New Jersey. Over time, I transitioned from IT support to database management. After 10 years with the K-12 school, I changed positions and moved to a vocational high school where I oversaw data operations as a data analyst. ClassLink recruited me from that position 6 years ago. Initially, I refused the offer because I enjoyed working with my team at the school. But, when ClassLink offered me the job a second time, I decided that I could make the change. It was the best decision of my life. I came to ClassLink as the first OneSync implementation specialist with the Ed Success team. I worked with OneSync customers for 3 years and got to watch as OneSync matured and became a more and more impressive piece of software. After 3 years with OneSync, I chose to transition to supporting LaunchPad and Roster Server, where I remain to this day. ❓ What's your favorite part about working for ClassLink? 💬 ClassLink gives me the opportunity to work with a talented and fun group of peers. One of the things that I love the most is that I have a team around me with whom I can collaborate. You've heard of a big fish in a small pond. Well, ClassLink is a big pond full of big fish. I am honored that they let me hang out with such talented people every day. ClassLink has given me a great opportunity to help hundreds of schools improve their IT systems and become more efficient at delivering education to the next generation. ClassLink has also supported my continuing education, both formally and informally, most recently supporting me in achieving my PMP certification. ❓ Where can we find you outside of ClassLink? 💬 When not working with ClassLink’s customers, I am usually working on renovating my home. I also enjoy hiking, gardening, and traveling with my wife. Our most recent trip was to Peru where we got to experience Machu Picchu among other sights.
