  • Great news for OKC residents who travel internationally for work and/or fun. Use the information below to book your Global Entry interview appointment.

    OKC Will Rogers International Airport to Host Global Entry Enrollment Event! OKC travelers can now enroll in Global Entry, a trusted traveler program administered by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, onsite at OKC Will Rogers International Airport during a two-day event on April 14 and 15. Global Entry is an authorized program that streamlines travel for passengers who fly internationally more than four times a year. “We are grateful to have Global Entry here at OKC International Airport to create a new benefit for Oklahoma City residents and visitors,” Director of Airports Jeff Mulder said. “With our new international flight to Cancun and more on the horizon, adding access to Global Entry enrollment continues to elevate OKC’s travel offerings.” Interested Global Entry travelers must enroll online at https://ttp.dhs.gov/ before scheduling an interview appointment. Here is how to enroll: Create a profile and submit your application. Pay the $120 fee. You will receive an email that your application is “Conditionally Approved.” Log into your account to schedule an appointment using the access code: 9E4NA5335. (Only valid for OKC event) Once accepted, your membership will last five years and include TSA Precheck. TSA Precheck allows people to keep their shoes, belts and light jackets on through security checkpoints and not have to remove their electronics from a carry-on bag. Global Entry members can use Global Entry processing technology at more than 75 airports when returning to the U.S. from travel abroad.   • The Key to Home Partnership will host a State of Homelessness Address, presented by the Inasmuch Foundation, on Tuesday, April 29, from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at the Oklahoma History Center, 800 Nazih Zuhdi Dr. This free event will present the findings from the 2025 Point in Time count, provide crucial insights into the current landscape of homelessness in Oklahoma City and outline ongoing and planned strategies to optimize the City's homeless response system. The State of Homelessness Address aims to provide a deeper understanding of homelessness in Oklahoma City and the challenges faced by people experiencing homelessness while highlighting collaborative initiatives designed to provide solutions. Speakers include representatives from City leadership, including Mayor David Holt, and staff from the Key to Home Partnership management team. A panel of subject matter experts and people with lived experience in homelessness will discuss their perspectives on the issue and answer questions from the audience. “Homelessness affects us all, and it’s important that we come together as a community to better understand the issue and to discuss meaningful solutions,” Assistant City Manager for the City of Oklahoma City Aubrey McDermid said. “This event offers an opportunity for residents to learn about the progress being made, the work still to be done, and how we can work together as a community to be part of the solution.” The event is open to the public, and registration is not required.   • The Los Angeles City Council voted today to approve the LA28 revised venue proposal, relocating Canoe Slalom to Oklahoma City, where it will join Softball in top-tier, purpose-built venues. Both Oklahoma City sports complexes are renowned for hosting premier Canoe Slalom and Softball events and are hosting a series of international events leading up the LA28 Games. This vote was the last step in confirming Oklahoma City’s role in the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles. “The Los Angeles City Council voted today to approve LA28’s venues proposal, and we are incredibly grateful to the Council for its consideration and approval,” said Oklahoma City Mayor David Holt. “We accept this opportunity with the highest sense of obligation. With that final approval today, it is now official. Two sports from the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles – Softball and Canoe Slalom – will be staged in their entirety in America’s 20th-largest city. This is really happening.   • Oklahoma City’s Chief Financial Officer, M. Brent Bryant, has been named Assistant City Manager by City Manager Craig Freeman. The Assistant City Manager position is the second-highest-ranking position in the City. The position is responsible for overseeing departments and ensuring efficient City operations. Bryant began his City career in 1991 as an internal auditor in the City Auditor’s Office. He served in various positions over the next 34 years and has been the Chief Financial Officer since 2019. “Brent has successfully led some of the City’s most complex financial programs over the years,” City Manager Craig Freeman said. “Among many other accomplishments, he managed 16 of the City’s 21 Tax Increment Financing Districts, was responsible for developing the City’s $2 billion budget and managed the GO bond and trust debt totaling $2.2 billion.” Positions he’s held with the City include internal auditor, contract coordinator, management and budget analyst, management and budget specialist, interim risk manager, business manager, economic development program manager and chief financial officer. Bryant was a 2018 recipient of Downtown Oklahoma City Partnership’s prestigious Stanley Draper Award for his contributions to downtown. Bryant will oversee 5 departments. He is replacing Laura Johnson, who retired on March 14 after 45 years with the City. “I’m honored and blessed to serve in the role,” Bryant said. “I love Oklahoma City. I have had the privilege to help change the very fabric of our great City in my roles in Finance Administration and the City Manager’s Office. I look forward to this new chapter.” Department assignments are as follows: - Brent Bryant: Finance, Public Works, Utilities, MAPS and the Office of Equity. - Aubrey McDermid: Parks and Recreation, Planning, Public Information, Development Services and venue contract facilitation. - LaShawn Thompson: Airports, General Services, Human Resources, City Clerk, General Services, Municipal Courts and Zoo. - Ferbrache: Fire, Police, Information Technology and Public Transportation and Parking and law enforcement policy implementation. The Assistant City Managers report to the City Manager, who oversees day-to-day operations, a staff of 5,000 employees and an operating budget of $918 million. The City Manager reports to the City Council at the top of Oklahoma City’s council-manager form of government. Bryant and his wife, Lori, have two adult children, Courtney and Cooper.
