First up are special events permits, which used to require going to several City offices. Now, you can do it all online. A water main break near Grand Blvd. and Holly Hills Ave. has caused lower water pressure in some areas. There is no boil advisory at this time. The Water Division will be making repairs, and we will share an update when we know more. Unrelated to this water main break, the Howard Bend water treatment plant lost power in the storm. We are working with Ameren to have power restored and expect that to be completed by 5 p.m. This is not currently affecting the supply of water.

🔍 Did you know? You don’t have to be a City of St. Louis resident to apply for most City jobs! We still hear from people who think residency is required, but that changed on August 28, 2023, when the Department of Personnel removed the residency requirement following action by the Missouri State Legislature. This means more opportunities for talented professionals who want to make a difference in St. Louis—whether you live in the city or beyond. However, employees in public safety and emergency response roles must still reside within a one-hour response time of their assigned workplace to ensure quick action in emergencies. 📢 The City of St. Louis is hiring! Starting today , crews will begin repaving Kingshighway between Martin Luther King Drive and Penrose as part of an ongoing effort to improve road conditions and enhance safety. One lane in each direction will remain open throughout the construction to minimize disruptions to traffic. We appreciate your patience and cooperation during this time. This work is part of a larger project aimed at repaving and implementing traffic-calming measures on more than 30 miles of arterial roads across the city. In addition to Kingshighway, the project includes improvements on Goodfellow, Grand, Jefferson, and Union. Thank you for your understanding as we work to create safer and smoother roads for everyone.
