The City of Phoenix Water Services Department provides water and wastewater services to the nation’s fifth largest city in an area encompassing nearly 540 square miles through the dedicated efforts of over 1,450 employees. We carefully manage our major assets, including 8 water and wastewater treatment plants, nearly 300 pump, well, lift and pressure stations, over 7,000 miles of water main, 5,000 miles of sewer main, 55,000 fire hydrants and over 100,000 manholes and cleanouts. We are owned by and accountable to the people of our community and our ratepayers through the community’s elected officials on the Phoenix City Council.
