This #InternationalWomensDay, we’re reflecting on the inspiring moments from The Power of Us Luncheon.   Mia Gradney, KHOU 11 News Anchor, took the stage with an inspiring message on grit, grace, and grind—three qualities that shape leaders and change-makers. Her stories of leadership and perseverance were a reminder of the impact women make every day.   Hosted in partnership with the Pearland Chamber of Commerce and the City of Pearland, this event brought together voices, experiences, and ideas to celebrate progress and unity.   Today, we honor their achievements. Let’s continue to break barriers together.  

This past week, the City’s Department of Emergency Management hosted an intensive Incident Commander course that brought together 14 dedicated city staff members and key partners, including representatives from the City of Manvel, Chevron, and Team Rubicon. Over the course of the week, participants honed their skills in leading and managing emergency response efforts, gaining invaluable knowledge in handling critical situations. The training covered everything from tactical decision-making to resource management and coordination during large-scale incidents. A huge thank you to all participants for their commitment to improving our community’s safety and resilience. This collaboration across multiple sectors strengthens our ability to respond effectively when emergencies arise. Together, we’re building a more prepared and safer community!
