Recently, the City’s HR department hosted tours of various City worksites that provided the Tennessee Department of Human Services Vocational Rehabilitation team with firsthand insights into our job opportunities. Seeing how various departments and roles function will help their team connect customers with the right jobs for their unique needs and employment goals. The Vocational Rehabilitation Program focuses on connecting Tennesseans with disabilities, their advocates and potential employers with resources that pave pathways to employment and elevated levels of independence. Learn more about their work here: https://lnkd.in/ehX-nfS9 Thank you, Vocational Rehabilitation, for spending this time with us!

Thank you, Carson-Newman University, for allowing the City of Knoxville to come interact with your amazing students this month! We are grateful that our HR team was able to both table on-campus for open jobs and give a lecture about workplace values and how those play into finding your professional community.

Congratulations to Marin, one of our Recreation Interns, for her acceptance into graduate school!👏
I am so happy to announce that I will be continuing my academic career at Tennessee next year! I will be getting my master's degree in Advertising and Public Relations with the Tombras School of Advertising & Public Relations. This is a huge step for me, and I am excited to dive deeper into the dynamic world of communications, branding, and media. I want to thank everyone who has supported me so far, and I look forward to connecting with fellow students, professors, and professionals in the field. Here’s to the next chapter of learning, growth, and endless opportunities! (UT can't get rid of me quite yet 😉 ).

I was beyond honored to receive the Knoxville Police Department 2024 Officer of the Year Award in a beautiful setting in the heart of the city I love. My little girl yelled “Dada!” and joined me which was so special. Thank you City of Knoxville for being such an amazing place to work. It was the best professional decision of my life to come to KPD. This agency has been so good to me and is such an outstanding place to work. Thank you so much KPD!
