About us
Founded in 2018, Circular Threads is a brand on a mission to contribute to the Circular Economy by reusing post-consumer waste destined for the landfill. Rather than producing products from virgin materials that further deplete the Earth's natural resources, the Colorado based company manufacturers its products from waste materials already in use. The EPA estimated that in 2017, nearly 17 million tons of discarded textiles were sent to the landfill, which represents over 10 pounds of waste annually for each person. With an abundant supply of waste streams to choose from, Circular Threads has focused its efforts on recycling materials from businesses that have difficulty recycling their own waste. Working with climbing gyms to recycle their decommissioned climbing rope, sail repair facilities to recycle their old sails, as well as thrift stores to recycle their denim blue jeans that couldn't be sold. These waste materials are diverted from the landfill and fashioned into new products. Take-back: Rather than allow their repurposed products to eventually be discarded when they are no longer wanted, the company designs their products so that they can be recycled again when they reach the end of their useful life.
