About us
The Cherokee Office of Economic Development (COED) exists to promote economic development in Cherokee County by aiding in the expansion of existing industry and through the attraction of new investment and quality employment opportunities. The community focuses on economic development to create economic opportunity for all citizens, i.e. jobs; stimulate business investment; diversify the public revenue base. COED aids in economic growth by working with existing industries to expand as well as by recruiting additional businesses to the community. Cherokee County is one in five Georgia Counties identified by the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) as having an Innovation Economy that tops the national average. The average is taken from the Innovation Index sponsored by the U.S. Commerce Department. COED is Cherokee’s Leading Organization for Business & Film Recruitment and Industry Retention & Expansion.

We are so excited to welcome our two newest team members Videssa Ormsby and Amy Leatherman! Born and raised in Woodstock, Videssa graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. We are excited to have Videssa serving as our Events Manager. Amy is a Florida native who relocated to Cherokee County in 2003. She has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, has training as a Global Career Development Facilitator, and has completed the Georgia Academy of Economic Development Regional Program. Amy is our Workforce Programs Manager! We are so excited to welcome Amy and Videssa to our COED team!
