“Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days.” (John 2:19) Holy Saturday is a day for reflection as we wait for Jesus to rise again on the third day. Tonight, we will keep vigil at, as St. Augustine put it, "the mother of all vigils." Let us pray for grace and give thanks for Christ's ultimate sacrifice. #HolySaturday #Catholic #EasterVigil

“He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness." (1 Peter 2:24) On Good Friday, we remember that Jesus died on the cross for our sins. Let us dwell on this ultimate sacrifice of His crucifixion and give thanks for the glory of God. #GoodFriday #Catholic

“If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet.” (John 13:14) The foot washing ceremony, or Holy Thursday Mandatum, is a rite that reminds us of Jesus' final act of service to his disciples. After the Passover meal, Jesus washed the feet of his disciples to show that no one is above serving their neighbors. Let us pray for our own piety and humility today on Holy Thursday, which marks the start of the Paschal Triduum. #HolyThursday #Catholic #MaundyThursday

St. Margaret de Castello was born a blind and hunchbacked dwarf to unloving parents. They kept her in a room without doors so that no one would see her and eventually cast her into the streets when she was sixteen years old. She never became bitter, though, and had deep spiritual wisdom due to her many years cultivating her relationship with God in solitude. She sought shelter with the Dominican nuns and eventually became a member of the Dominican Third Order of Castello. She devoted the rest of her life to doing acts of charity. Even after her death, she continues to help the less-fortunate. Over 200 miracles have been attributed to her death. The endowment fund in her name continues the good work that Margaret did during her life. It supports Catholic schools, organizations that help individuals and families in need, and organizations that help families with special needs children. You can support these causes today on St. Margaret de Castello's feast day at https://ow.ly/LZ9350VyByE.

On this day in 1982, the St. Francis Table Soup Kitchen began operation. When the Franciscan Friars staffed the Catholic Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Atlanta, they saw the need for food for the hungry on Saturdays. The Shrine now continues to feed the hungry every Saturday with the help of up to 40 volunteers each week. A longtime volunteer, David Gojdics, started an endowment fund for this ministry in 2014 to support the St. Francis Table ministry at the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. You can support this great ministry in honor of St. Francis of Assisi today by visiting https://ow.ly/Z9rN50VxQJj St. Francis of Assisi, pray for us.

Gerald (Gerry) Francis McDonald lived 80 wonderful years before losing a brief battle with cancer. In his retirement, he dedicated his time to St. John Neumann Catholic Church, which is why he asked for memorial gifts to be made to St. John Neumann in his name. Tribute gifts affirm your commitment to ensuring our Catholic values and also recognize that this passion was shared by your loved one. Any gift can be made in honor of or in memory of someone important to you. Read more about Gerry's story and about tribute gifts in the annual report at https://lnkd.in/ef8Gniq9.
