But the need for creative, innovative solutions to the world’s inequities is greater than ever. As we push forward in our efforts to create change, we must remember that these difficult times demand resilience, determination, and, above all, the courage to persevere." - Blair Brown Shout out to the current Exec Program in Social Impact Strategy student, Blair Brown, for sharing her reflections on our most recent convening! Connecting and amplifying global changemakers and educators so together we can create positive social impact 🌍

I had no idea what to expect when I enrolled in the Executive Program for Social Impact Strategy at the Center for Social Impact Strategy at UPenn. The first six weeks through online lectures and asynchronous assignments immersed us in Social Impact Strategy. At first, I worried about managing the workload, but instead, this course became an incredible light during a chaotic time. Today, we kicked off the next phase: a three-day convening here on campus at University of Pennsylvania. Day 1 Highlights: ➡️ Inspiring Connections – My head is still swimming from meeting so many incredible, purpose-driven people. ➡️ Deep Learning – We explored impact creation cycles and engaged in thought-provoking discussions. ➡️ Trust-Based Philanthropy – A powerful keynote by Constance Paige Young challenged us to rethink traditional funding models. ➡️ World Cafe - authentic conversations about how we sustain ourselves and others while driving change. ➡️ Surprise Moment: line dancing lessons! Connecting with our bodies can be as important as connecting with our brains. Since I'm here in Philadelphia thought I'd end with a quote by Ben Franklin that feels so relevant to how I was left feeling today: "Instead of cursing the darkness, light a candle" Grateful to be in this space with so many choosing to find light, to hear others experiences and stories, and to learn alongside such an inspiring cohort. Looking forward to day 2.
