The earthquake that struck Myanmar on March 28 devastated homes and infrastructure. The hardest-hit areas remain without electricity, water and telecommunications. Thousands of people continue to sleep outside, fearful of being within a structure, and unable to return to their damaged homes. Malnutrition during infancy and childhood has dire consequences including compromised immunity, growth and development. With over 84 million people forcibly displaced from their homes worldwide, peace is more important than ever. CRS’ social cohesion projects bring people or communities in conflict together to promote reconciliation and peaceful coexistence.
