It was a night to remember as the Catholic Charities #DC Gala celebrated its 40th anniversary. More than 1,100 people attended the party at the #WashingtonHilton. In 2020, a generous investment by the A. James & Alice B. Clark Foundation allowed Catholic Charities to establish the Newcomer Network, which assists newcomers with legal services and connects them to support. Tonight, we are pleased to announce that a final and generous endowment investment from the foundation will support the Newcomer Network and other programming, and launch the A. James & Alice B. Clark Service Impact Award. This annual award will recognize a Catholic Charities volunteer or group of volunteers who embody Jim and Alice Clark’s goals of investing in people and empowering them to achieve self-sufficiency while exemplifying the Clarks’ values of hard work, integrity and giving back.
