In recognition of #WomenInConstructionWeek, we proudly acknowledge the incredible women shaping the future of real estate and construction. At #CarrProperties, we are honored to highlight Alison Wertzler, who was recently promoted to Senior Vice President of Design and Construction. Alison thrives on problem-solving, building connections, and delivering tangible results. One of her proudest projects is our mixed-use development in Bethesda, MD, The Wilson and The Elm. The project involved an extensive approval process and coordination with local government and communities, exemplifying her leadership. Now, Alison is taking on her next development opportunity at 425 Montgomery, our newly announced residential project in Alexandria, VA. Working alongside Alexandria City Archaeology, Alison is gaining new experience with archaeological documentation of a historic canal that runs through the site. She is also partnering with the city to preserve the canal stone for integration into a future project. Reflecting on her career, Alison shared, “I never minded being one of the only women in the room. Everyone always remembered me, and I think it really helped me be successful in my career.” As a woman in construction, Alison views her unique perspective as an asset, helping her make a lasting impact and stand out in any room. Yesterday, our associates from the DMV, Boston, and Austin markets came together for our annual Kickoff event, a time for us to reflect on the successes of the past year and set the stage for a productive year ahead.
