It can be nearly impossible to spot all of our own biases and inclinations, and to not perpetuate the messaging we received in our own formative years. 68% of the parents in this study were mothers. Research like this study in the Journal of Developmental Psychology from the American Psychological Association is so crucial to breaking the cycle of viewing math as a gendered activity, pursuit, and passion.
