During Business-Higher Education Forum’s (BHEF) Spring 2025 Convening, BHEF and Trellis Foundation announced a $500,000 investment to BHEF to expand the Workforce Partnership Initiative: Texas (WPI Texas) to new communities across the state of Texas. When wildfires broke out across Los Angeles County in January 2025, the Chevron Fire Department helped to protect their community by providing logistical support, meals, and hydration to frontline firefighters. We have also pledged to contribute $1 million in support of wildfire relief efforts in California, aiding first responders, impacted families, and business recovery. As part of Assurant’s commitment to communities impacted by wildfires, the Assurant Foundation is donating $150,000 to the American Red Cross. Since 2016, Assurant has supported the Red Cross with over $2 million in grants and matching gifts for disaster relief and is a member of its Disaster Responder Program. Assurant is also donating $50,000 each to the California Community Foundation’s Wildfire Recovery Fund and the California Fire Foundation’s LA Wildfire & Disaster Relief Fund to support critical recovery services and aid wildfire victims. Amazon Web Services (AWS), a part of Business Roundtable member company Amazon, plans to invest $1 billion in a new data center in central Ohio by 2030, supporting thousands of jobs in construction and other local industries. As part of its investment in the community, AWS plans to invest more than $15 million to the city over 15 years, in addition to supporting infrastructure improvements and collaborating with educational institutions to provide workforce training. To support Habitat LA’s ReBUILD LA™ Wildfire Relief effort, Prologis is contributing 120,000 square feet of warehouse space to store donated goods. Our donation will help Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles manage and distribute furniture and household essentials to families rebuilding after the wildfires. Prologis has been a part of the Los Angeles community for 30 years and has partnered with Habitat LA since 2015, engaging more than 100 volunteers in hands-on projects to build and restore homes.
