📍Marking a Milestone for National Security at the AI + Biotechnology Summit in Washington, DC BENS President & CEO retired Gen. Timothy Ray joined a thought-provoking panel at this event, highlighting the launch of the National Security Commission on Emerging Biotechnology (NSCEB)'s Charting the Future of Biotechnology action plan. BENS members helped inform the Commission's six steps in this plan to secure long-term American leadership in #biotechnology. With support from additional partners like MassBio, we convened private sector expertise from more than 100 BENS members and industry leaders, discussing the growing risk of ceding biotech leadership to China and ways to secure American prosperity. We're proud to collaborate with partners like National Security Commission on Emerging Biotechnology (NSCEB) and help elevate dialogue on integrating this field into national defense alongside Commissioner Paul Arcangeli, Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering James Mazol, Caitlin Gearen Frazer, and Dr. Paul J. #DCSA was on the road at several locations in the Northeast last week, with Director David Cattler dropping in for a chat with Business Executives for National Security (BENS). “Great roundtable discussion last week with the BENS members in Boston. DCSA was able to engage in dialogue about the threat environment and industrial security with industry leaders across a variety of sectors who are focused on national security priorities," Cattler said. “DCSA’s partnership with industry is critical in supporting the SECDEF’s goal of reviving the defense industrial base and enabling technical advantage on the battlefield,” he continued.
