Ohio’s Medicaid expansion population may soon face new work requirements. The Ohio Department of Medicaid has submitted a waiver seeking federal approval to change eligibility for Group VIII recipients, requiring employment, education, treatment participation, or other criteria. If approved, these changes will take effect on January 1, 2026. Now under federal review, the waiver is open for public comment until April 7, 2025.
