An electrifying "Let's Talk Tech" session on #QuantumComputing! 🤯 Dr. Jan-Rainer Lahmann from IBM blew our minds with a deep dive into this game-changing technology. Jan sat down with Bosch Digital's Dr. Andreas Nauerz, and shared where quantum already starts to outperform classic systems. PLUS, we got a sneak peek 👀 at IBM's quantum roadmap for the next 3-5 years! 🚀 Intrigued by #Quantum? Check out Bosch's research: https://lnkd.in/gkfJkZFD #Technology #Innovation #BoschDigital #IBM

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚 𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧! 🚀 Today’s 𝐋𝐞𝐭’𝐬 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡 was all about demystifying #QuantumComputing - and what an inspiring exchange it turned out to be. Together with Dr. Jan-Rainer Lahmann from #IBM, we unpacked the 𝐟𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐬, busted some 𝐦𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐬, explored real-world 𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐬, and dug into where the field is heading - both in terms of tech and talent. From the 𝐟𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐮𝐦 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐢𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬 - including ion traps, superconductors, and qubits - to addressing common 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬, we kicked things off by laying a solid foundation. We then explored 𝐰𝐡𝐲 𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 quantum computing is moving from theory to practice. 𝐉𝐚𝐧 shared eye-opening examples of 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥-𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬, the current state of 𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐮𝐦 𝐚𝐝𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞, and where quantum already starts to outperform classical systems. We discussed 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐭 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭, the idea of a “𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐮𝐦 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝”, and the growing set of 𝐭𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐬 that make it possible for software engineers - not just physicists - to get hands-on today. We also touched on 𝐝𝐞𝐛𝐮𝐠𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬, 𝐧𝐨𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, and the 𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐯𝐬. 𝐬𝐨𝐟𝐭𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐝𝐥𝐞𝐬 still to overcome. 𝐉𝐚𝐧 even brought along a 3D-printed quantum computer model (open source!) to make it tangible. On #Bosch’s side, we reflected on our longstanding 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐬, recent advances in 𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐮𝐦 𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐬, and collaborations like our 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐈𝐁𝐌. And finally, we looked into 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐧𝐨𝐰 - and what’s coming in the next 3–5 years according to #IBM’s quantum roadmap. The level of engagement from the Bosch Digital community was incredible - 600+ 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐠𝐮𝐞𝐬 joined live and brought thoughtful, challenging, and forward-looking questions to the table. Huge thanks to you, 𝐉𝐚𝐧, for generously sharing your time, insights, and your contagious passion for the topic. 𝐈𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐮𝐬! And not to forget: Thanks to Helena Burghardt and Beatriz Ongaro for the great organizational work and moderation. #QuantumComputing #BoschDigital #LetsTalkTech #IBM #IBMQuantum #TechTalks #Innovation #BeyondTheHype
