Revitalizing Waterville: At the American Planning Association conference, Neil Kittredge, AIA, AICP and Rayna Erlich, AIA, LEED AP, WEDG shared the master plan that is transforming downtown Waterville, Maine. A historic partnership between the City of Waterville, ME and Colby College has resulted in a dramatic revitalization of the city’s Main Street in just seven years, stimulating economic development and restoring Waterville’s role as a cultural and economic hub for the Mid-Maine region. BBB facilitated an inclusive visioning process that engaged the community in the revitalization plan for Downtown. Groundbreaking Affordability: BBB was proud to join WBP Development LLC for the groundbreaking of Station Plaza, a 109-unit affordable housing development in the village of Ossining. Located at 30 Main Street, this eight-story, mixed-use, transit-oriented development includes public parking and a public extension of the Sing Sing Kill Greenway through the site. Its design steps out from the steeply sloped, forested ravine to maintain the low-rise character of the village. A brownfield remediation, it also incorporates best-practice sustainability measures: an all-electric building system, a high-performance building envelope, on-site energy generation, high-efficiency ground-source geothermal heat pumps, and electric car and bike charging. Stay tuned for more about this exciting project!

🛠️🖌️ A home is made of its details, and no detail goes overlooked at a home for art. Today, The New York Times pays homage to "the A-team of craftspeople...from Lyon, France, to Gowanus, Brooklyn" behind key aspects in the restoration of The Frick Collection's buildings. At the link below, read about "weaving magic," "luminous murals," "haute couture" upholstery, a "cinematic stairway," "hallowed woodwork," a room of "joyous confection," and other world-class artisanship that makes our renovation shine. https://nyti.ms/4caBEgy 🎟️ Starting April 17, take in all of these details and more at our reopened Fifth Avenue home. — With thanks to those featured: Manufacture Prelle Darren Waterston PASSEMENTERIE VERRIER PARIS Aurora Lampworks, Inc. 🌳🌸 As spring begins to blossom ahead of the Frick's grand reopening on April 17, we invite you to follow along as we highlight one of the museum's three green spaces: the 70th Street Garden, restored as part of our renovation project. Created in 1977, the viewing garden was one of the first public commissions in America by British landscape architect Russell Page, whose detailed maintenance notes are still in use today. In this video, landscape designer Lynden Miller reflects on the ongoing restoration—a collaboration with Richard Southwick, of preservation architects Beyer Blinder Belle, and Maeve Turner, the Frick's Head of Gardens and Horticulture—which faithfully returns the garden to Page's design. 🎥 Watch now: https://bit.ly/42fkutN #renovation #restoration #garden #frickcollection — Video by the Frick's Media Production Team

Ready to Embark: The New York Times visited Hoboken’s historic ferry terminal ahead of its restoration and adaptive reuse by LCOR and BBB, which will convert the upper floor into event space, reopening it to the public for the first time in decades. The restoration is part of the Hoboken Connect redevelopment, which will leverage new residential, office, and retail space to create a more dynamic, walkable urban environment along the Hudson River.
