From the Big Easy to the Big Apple! In February, we were in Louisiana; in March, we went to #SXSW in Austin, Texas; this week, it's New York where we held our First Twin Talks in the U.S.! Hosted by Accenture, Sidewalk Infrastructure Partners (SIP), and Bentley, the event brought together industry leaders, policymakers, and practitioners to explore innovative approaches to transit infrastructure and urban mobility in NYC and beyond. On Monday, Twin Talks packed Accenture’s office—61 stories above Manhattan. Speakers included Amtrak’s SVP for High-Speed Rail Andy Byford, and Patrick McCoy, CFO of the Gateway Development Commission (GDC). They explored innovative approaches to transit infrastructure and urban mobility. For example, if Houston and Dallas were connected by high-speed rail, trains could cover the 240-mile route in just 90 minutes. Byford said the project would revitalize both cities and help Texas manage its explosive growth.
