Opportunities are soaring with the City of Bangor at the Bangor International Airport! The Airport IT Technician serves as a dedicated, on-site IT staff member for the Airport Department and works closely with Airport staff. This position is responsible for navigating complex systems, effectively communicating between multiple departments, maintaining confidentiality, and analyzing and interpreting information necessary to install, support, and maintain mobile computer hardware and security type software, and the design/ update of implemented systems for Airport applications. Pay range is $28.29 to $37.98 per hour, commensurate with experience, and includes a comprehensive benefits package for a full-time position (37.5 hours).

Adding to our destinations, we welcomed Breeze Airways™ to BGR today! Today's Airbus 220-300 arrived from Orlando International Airport - MCO, taking passengers from Maine direct to the Sunshine State. The airline will offer non-stop flights to Orlando on Thursdays and Sundays, to Tampa International Airport (TPA) on Mondays and Fridays, and seasonal service to Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) in Fort Myers, FL on Wednesdays and Saturdays. A special thank you goes out to the BANGOR FIRE DEPARTMENT for their assistance with the water salute as the aircraft exited the taxiway.

Today, September 11, 2024, marks the 23rd anniversary of the terrorist attacks against the United States in New York, Washington, D.C., and Pennsylvania. At 8:46 a.m., American Airlines Flight 11 crashed into the World Trade Center's North Tower, beginning an attack that killed more than 3,000 people. The hour that followed would include the devastating losses of United Airlines Flight 175, American Airlines Flight 77, and United Airlines Flight 93. A ceremony took place at BGR this morning, allowing us to observe a moment of silence for those who perished on that tragic day. Anah Highlanders performed for those in attendance, Commandant Ervin Dumond of Marine Corps League Detachment 1151 offered a blessing, and Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Deaconess Kim Slininger shared remarks. Thank you to our airline partners, Customs and Border Protection officers, Maine Troop Greeters, airport employees, as well as the family and friends who took the time from their day to join us in honoring those who perished in the attacks. A very special thank you goes out to Bangor International Airport's TSA officers whose dedication to service led to the formation of a new Honor Guard that solemnly presented the colors at today's ceremony. Together we will never forget.
