Avidyne CEO receives AOPA award for general aviation safety Avidyne Corporation, a leading provider of a wide range of avionics technologies for existing and future generations of light winged and vertical lift aircraft, announced that the AOPA Air Safety Institute has awarded Avidyne CEO Dan Schwinn with the Richard G. McSpadden General Aviation Safety Award. “Dan’s leadership and dedication to advancing cockpit technology has had a lasting impact on general aviation,” said Mike Ginter, Sr. Vice President of the AOPA Air Safety Institute. “From introducing glass panel avionics to enhancing real-time situational awareness, there is no question Dan’s contributions have made flying safer. We are proud to recognize his achievements with the Richard G. McSpadden General Aviation Safety Award.” “Improving safety and ease of use is at the core of everything we do at Avidyne, and I am honored to be recognized with this prestigious award from the AOPA Air Safety Institute.” Schwinn said. The prestigious award was presented as part of the annual Robert ‘Bob’ Hoover Awards Ceremony at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport in Arlington, VA on March 19, 2025.
