  • Investments in patient recruitment for clinical trials can be a significant component of the trial budget, as 32% of costs can be attributed to recruitment. Sponsors often outsource due to the intense resource demand and complexity, but not all strategies are effective. How do you choose a partner who ensures your investment maximizes ROI? With countless offerings on the market, selection is critical. Beyond Traditional Patient Awareness: The first consideration is whether your partner uses a full-funnel approach. Currently, many providers focus on patient awareness, such as advertising and outreach. Although important, at AutoCruitment we have learned that being an active partner with each patient throughout the recruitment journey has led to measurable success. This involves comprehensive qualification and continued engagement through to randomization. The Power of Comprehensive Pre-screening A particular strength of our approach is multi-layered patient pre-screening. Across indications, patients often have trouble accurately self-reporting their medical history or recalling critical details that would impact eligibility for a study. To address these critical issues, we take an approach that does not rely solely on patients self-reporting. In addition to online pre-screening, we utilize a second phone screening with our registered nurses. We also have a technology solution in place that allows us to automate the collection and enable simplified review of medical records for clinical trial eligibility. By leveraging EMR Capture & Intellgience and enlisting our team of RNs with the clinical expertise to guide potential patients through the prescreening process, we are able to achieve a significant drop in screen failure rates and thus shortened timelines. The Engagement Gap One of the most overlooked aspects of patient recruitment is keeping patients engaged throughout the process to enrollment. Clinical trials are a significant time commitment, and patients are more engaged when they have the support and information needed throughout their journey. Our dedicated Engagement Services Team acts as an extension of the research site and as a dedicated support system for patients. We work in tandem with the research site staff to ensure patients have every resource they need to be successful. The Results That Matter At the end of the day, the most important metrics for sponsors aren’t click-through rates – they are about randomized and engaged patients, as well as shortened timelines. Across 120 conditions in 37 countries, our comprehensive full-funnel approach has consistently delivered results for sponsors and patients alike.   • The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention National Center for Health Statistics reported that 15 million physician office visits listed depressive disorders as the primary reason for the visit, as per their latest reporting year. There are impactful new medications in clinical development to help alleviate the burden of mental health disorders, such as major depressive disorder (MDD), but many patients who are interested do not know where to start.
