When we talk about our teams going above and beyond, this is what we mean! Our Lead RBTs on #TeamLawrence are taking time out of their already busy schedules to hand-make PECS books for the kiddos who need them! PECS (Picture Exchange Communications System), is a form of Augmentative and Alternative Communication where little ones are taught to hand a picture icon to communicate what they want and to ask for things. When a child selects one of the pictures, we label it out loud and speak for them! By creating PECS books for our kiddos, our team makes sure that everyone has a voice. Did you know that ACP has FREE PECS sheets and matching activities? Did you know that kiddos aged 3 years old can typically use a fork when eating? This milestone demonstrates the development of #MotorSkills and is important when moving onto more challenging foods! Grabbing silverware is also useful for promoting increased grip strength, coordination, and more! At ACP EI, a division of Autism Care Partners, we aim to target these #LifeChanging skills through individualized care plans so that little ones can be as successful as possible when tackling future adventures. Great work, kiddo! Explore more about ACP Early intervention here: ACP-EI.com! Learn more! The Early Intervention Program is a public program funded by New York State, Nassau & Suffolk counties, and the NYC Department of Mental Health, and is for children less than three years of age who have or are suspected of having a developmental delay and/or disability. Eligibility for the EIP can be determined only by State approved evaluators under contract with the municipality. If a child is found eligible for the EIP, all services are identified in collaboration with the family and must be authorized by the municipality. The municipality will arrange for service providers to deliver services authorized by the municipality. All services under the EIP are provided at no out-of-pocket cost to families, but health insurance may be accessed, without affecting your family’s benefits. For services provided in community settings that require a fee, the parent is responsible for paying those costs. To access EI services, contact the Nassau County Department of Health at 516-227-8661 or the Suffolk County Department of Health at 631-853-3100 or the Westchester County Department of Health at 914-813-5094. To access EI services within New York City, contact the NYC Help Line at 311. ACP Early Intervention is an approved provider of Early Intervention services under contract with Nassau County, Suffolk County, Westchester County, and New York City. #ACPEarlyIntervention #ACPEI #EIP #ServiceCoordination #EarlyIntervention #ChildDevelopment #BehavioralHealth
