  • The Maria Acuna Essence (MAE) Award is Auction Academy’s highest honor, recognizing students who truly embody leadership, dedication, and commitment to the program. Named in memory of Maria Acuna—Class 5 graduate, valedictorian, and a shining light we lost too soon—this award honors her legacy. Maria stood out in every way: she led from within, showed up fully, supported her classmates, and brought what she learned back to her home team to share, mentor, and uplift others. In her spirit, we recognize those who carry that same energy and heart. At last week’s Academy Gala Celebration, we were proud to announce the Class 8 students who exemplified these qualities and earned this meaningful honor. Another round of applause for our Class 8 honorees… Keeley Capriola Tara McLean, CAR Tom Freiert 👏🏻👏🏼👏🏽👏🏾👏🏿

Coaching Managers to Lead with Trust, Empathy & Accountability—So Teams Thrive | Partnering with HR & Executives to Build People-First Leaders | Author | Speaker | Podcast Host

Auction Academy Class Eight - What if your real impact isn’t what you achieve—but who you lift up next? I was honored to share a moment with Class 8 and talk about what matters most: 𝘓𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘷𝘢𝘭𝘶𝘦𝘴. We unpacked the power of trust, hope, humility, and empathy—not as buzzwords, but as tools to move from managing tasks to leading people. And we talked about dignity—not as a soft skill, but as a standard for how great leaders treat those they serve. What stood out most wasn’t the laughs, the energy, or even the questions. It was the potential this group displayed.  𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘰𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘨𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵—𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘨𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨. To take everything you’ve learned and pay it forward. So here’s your charge, Class 8:   ✅ Share what you’ve learned.   ✅ Light the path for those behind you.   ✅ Lead with dignity—always. You don’t need a title to lead.  Just the courage to care. 🙏 Thank you, Penny Wanna, CAR, for creating space for real growth. Class 8, your greatness won’t be what you did for yourselves— 𝐈𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐨 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬. 🌟 Be the leader who makes others better. 💥 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬. #Leadership #ValueBasedLeadership #Dignity #Trust #Hope #Humility #Empathy #CreateMoreLeaders

  • Class 8’s Final Session is Underway! It’s hard to believe, but Auction Academy Class 8 has officially started its last session, marking the final chapter of their incredible two-year journey! We kicked things off with an outstanding tour at ADESA San Diego, where our hosts Jeff Hyde and Denice Sanchez welcomed us with open arms. They shared their auction stories, insights on leadership, and gave us a behind-the-scenes look at their impressive facility. A huge thank you to Jeff, Denice, and the entire ADESA SD team for their generosity and hospitality! We couldn’t have asked for a better start to this final session. Looking forward to celebrating Class 8’s achievements as they cross the finish line and stage to collect their diplomas!
