When Parkinson’s makes traveling difficult, we bring health care to our patients, helping with everything from daily tasks to at-home physical therapy. And when Parkinson’s comes with other, life-limiting medical problems, such as dementia and recurrent pneumonia, we can step in with hospice to ensure that patients maintain a solid quality of life. #ParkinsonsAwarenessMonth

On #WorldHealthDay, we recognize and celebrate the ways we all benefit from healthcare innovations around the world. We are especially thankful for Dame Cicely Saunders of the United Kingdom for her role in the birth of the modern hospice movement which has been improving quality of life for people in the U.S. since the ‘70s.

Early cancer detection saves lives, and family health history is an important predictor of cancer risk. The CDC recommends telling your doctor if: • A relative was diagnosed before age 50 with uterine, breast, or colorectal cancer. • Two or more relatives on the same side of the family were diagnosed with uterine, breast, or colorectal cancer. • A female relative was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. • A male relative was diagnosed with breast cancer. You have an Eastern European or Ashkenazi Jewish ancestry. The more they (and you!) know, the better tailored your screening schedule will be. #NationalCancerPreventionandEarlyDetectionMonth
