  • Last week, we attended the IHC Affordable Housing Forum, a great opportunity to reconnect with old friends and meet new ones. Given the uncertain political climate, the panel discussions were especially insightful. The building tours were a great addition to the program this year. We only wish we could have visited all four projects. Thank you, Lilian Yool and Michael Roane, for sharing your work, and a big thanks to Illinois Housing Council for putting together such a great event!

  • Congrats to the Illinois Women's Affordable Housing Network (WAHN) board on a great event last Thursday! It’s exciting to see the organization grow so quickly and bring together so many voices working to advance affordable housing. A special congratulations to this year’s honoree, Kristin Faust - for a thoughtful speech and for paving the way for future leaders through Illinois Housing Development Authority's Next Gen program. We’re grateful to be part of these conversations and look forward to continuing to support the future of affordable housing.

  • Last week, we joined Celadon Partners and its many collaborators to celebrate the start of construction on a new supportive living facility located in Deerfield. This project reflects a thoughtful vision for affordable senior housing, blending midcentury modern design with Deerfield’s rich character. We’re honored to contribute to bringing this vision to life and deeply grateful to our collaborators who have made this milestone possible: SAS Architects & Planners, LLC, SR+A Structural Engineers, and Eriksson Engineering Associates, Ltd., the finance team, Skender, and the local and state officials and agencies who supported this effort. Thank you to Celadon Partners, LLC for organizing such a wonderful ceremony and bringing everyone together—it was a meaningful way to mark this exciting moment! Stay tuned for updates as construction progresses. • Happy Holidays from all of us at Assemble Design Workshop! This season, we were happy to join J+J Flooring's Helping Hands event, where architecture firms came together to spread some holiday cheer by decorating Christmas trees for donation to Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago. Our Pokémon-themed tree was a joy to create, and we hope it brings smiles and warmth to the children and families it reaches. Wishing you all a season filled with joy, kindness, and creativity. Here’s to a bright new year ahead!

  • For the past year, Assemble Design Workshop has been collaborating with Celadon Partners, LLC on a new supportive living facility located along Lake Cook Road in Deerfield, Illinois. Inspired by midcentury modern design and taking queues from Deerfield’s history as a brick town, this community is designed to provide residents with a safe, welcoming, and thoughtfully planned environment. We are very grateful to Scott Henry, Aron Weisner, and Gary Wool for trusting us with this meaningful project. This project would not be possible without the expertise of our valued consultants: SAS Architects & Planners, LLC, SR+A Structural Engineers, Eriksson Engineering Associates, Ltd., and our trusted collaborators: dbHMS, TriMark USA, and of course, Skender. Construction begins in 2025—stay tuned for updates! #chicagoarchitecture #supportiveliving #seniorhousing #affordablehousing #WBEarchitect

  • It’s great to see the Chicago Architecture Center hosting the Girls Build event tomorrow! As a woman-owned business, we love seeing initiatives that encourage young girls to explore architecture and design. If you know any young creators, this is a wonderful opportunity to get them inspired and involved. Share with someone who might benefit from this experience! #GirlsBuild #WomenInArchitecture #NextGeneration https://lnkd.in/gEZS-zBX

  • Our website just got a refresh, and we’re excited to share some updates with you. We’ve added new project photos, including the Maria Elena Sifuentes Apartments, showcasing our latest work. There’s more in the works, and we can’t wait to share what’s next. In the meantime, feel free to explore the site and see what’s new. Your thoughts and feedback are always welcome. https://lnkd.in/ggedS3cb #WebsiteRefresh #NewProjects #WBE #WBEArchitect #AffordableHousing #MissionDriven #ChicagoArchitecture
