The potential impact of increased tariffs has prompted many companies in the promotional products industry to aggressively explore alternative sourcing options. BAMKO has been proactively diversifying our supply chain since 2018. Since then, we have moved nearly 80% of our sourcing outside of China. BREAKING #Tariff NEWS: President Donald Trump said Wednesday that he is authorizing a 90-day pause on reciprocal tariffs to most countries. While in effect, the pause means that tariffs on imports from most nations will be what Trump has called the baseline rate of 10%. That’s lower than the so-called reciprocal tariff rates. https://lnkd.in/eR_mRXSt (interesting #promoproducts industry reaction in this link, with insights from Joseph Sommer of Whitestone, Dan Jellinek of The Magnet Group, Yuhling Lu of Ariel Premium Supply, Andy Shape of Stran Promotional Solutions and Chris Anderson of HPG) However, Trump also said he will be increasing tariffs placed on imports from China. The tariff rate he will have implemented on China in 2025 will now be 125% -- which is in addition to previous tariffs on that nation already in place. On pausing tariffs Trump said in part: “…Based on the fact that more than 75 Countries have called Representatives of the United States, including the Departments of Commerce, Treasury, and the USTR, to negotiate a solution to the subjects being discussed relative to Trade, Trade Barriers, Tariffs, Currency Manipulation, and Non Monetary Tariffs, and that these Countries have not, at my strong suggestion, retaliated in any way, shape, or form against the United States, I have authorized a 90 day PAUSE, and a substantially lowered Reciprocal Tariff during this period, of 10%, also effective immediately.”
