At Wednesday's Breakfast of Champions, Olo founder & CEO Noah Glass shared his journey in restaurant tech with a great group of entrepreneurs, along with a few surprising facts: 📌his mom is a cookbook author 📌he played D1 lacrosse in college 📌he rereads Setting the Table by Danny Meyer every year Noah was incredibly transparent and generous with his time, and it's clear that this energy has helped Olo bottle "the essence of hospitality"! Our thanks to Noah for sharing so much with our attendees, both in his chat with Somak Chattopadhyay and the lively Q&A that followed. Thanks also to Mario Fallone at Akerman LLP for being such a fantastic co-host! Want to be invited to our next event? Email Preston@armorysv.com to connect.

Thanks to our friends at Akerman LLP and Armory Square Ventures for hosting the inaugural Breakfast of Champions with Noah Glass , Founder and CEO of Olo. I was a restaurant manager in my previous life, and personally experienced the pain that was addressed by Olo’s technology platform. Interesting to see my old world from a different perspective, after working in B2B tech for the last 8 years. It was a good reminder that whether your customer is a fast paced burger joint or a global financial institution building with AI, they care about 3 things: 1. Winning over new customers, 2. Delivering additional value to existing customers, 3. Improving business efficiency. Pretty much in that order. Preston DeGarmo Anthony Santaro

Another fantastic night of conversation on the books, this time with a dynamic group of founders discussing a common pain point in the startup process: building a finance team. Key takeaways below⬇️ 💡It's never too early in the startup life cycle to hire a finance person (though they don't have to be a CFO). 💡CFOs are more than just number crunchers; storytelling is an essential part of the job. 💡Financial modeling is as much an art as a science, so get your crayons out. 💡Don't assume all metrics are objective or mean the same to everyone. What constitutes CAC, for instance, can vary depending on who you talk to! Define your terms. 💡Be cautious when bringing in finance folks from big corporate backgrounds. Early-stage startups need people who are scrappy and can wear all the hats. Thanks to Ivan Cherky, Ioanna Mantzouridou Onasi, Ankur Patel, Jae Yoon, Robert Coombs, and Danei Cesario, AIA RIBA NCARB NOMA for joining, and to Dav Masaon and Carl Pombar for co-hosting the roundtable!

With his full-service Agency 15, Zachary Schneider has helped countless startups refine their marketing strategy. The most important step? Defining your brand story - both for building a customer base and inspiring potential investors. Startup marketing doesn't require a big team or tons of capital. Start with your unique perspective, and the rest will fall into place. And if you don't have a story to tell, "you should probably reconsider what you're doing."
