At ANA-Ohio, we believe that diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) are essential to the health of our profession and the communities we serve. In response to the recent Executive Order 14173 issued on January 20, 2025, which seeks to eliminate key DEI programs, we reaffirm our commitment to equity and inclusion in nursing. This executive order has raised significant concerns, including its impact on affirmative action, diversity education, and the initiatives designed to address longstanding inequities. ANA-Ohio strongly opposes this order and continues to advocate for practices that combat discrimination and promote equality across all sectors of healthcare. Our commitment remains firm in advocating for inclusive work environments that lead to better healthcare outcomes and promote the well-being of both nurses and the patients they serve. We support diversity education and mandatory training in the workplace, and we remain dedicated to fighting for equitable practices in nursing.
