Congratulations to our team on completing our annual shutdown at Amyris’ state-of-the-art #biomanufacturing facility in Barra Bonita, Brazil, which houses 1.5 million liters of fermentation capacity. Annual shutdowns are a critical part of maintaining operational efficiency and ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality ingredients to our customers for their #sustainable products. Our shutdown was meticulously choreographed, involving 413 scheduled activities over 15 days, enabling maintenance, upgrades, and inspection of equipment, to prevent unexpected breakdowns and downtime. Cassio Correa Barbosa, our Director of Operations, shares his perspective - “Success in biomanufacturing requires flawless execution and incredible attention to detail. Amyris is pleased to announce that it has been awarded an agreement through the Biopharmaceutical Manufacturing Preparedness Consortium (BioMaP-C) for up to $12.3 million to advance innovative pharmaceutical manufacturing in the United States. Amyris aims to develop up to three small molecule drugs over the next two years – all of which are on the FDA drug shortage list.
