Poor vision from cataracts doesn’t have to take you away from activities you love. When cataracts affected patient Bruce Barkhorn’s night vision, he feared his love for striper fishing would end. Bruce visited AMSURG partner Shawn R. Klein, MD, at River Drive Surgery and Laser Center in Elmwood Park, New Jersey. After cataract surgery and new intraocular lenses, Bruce’s vision is better than ever! “I get up in the morning; I don’t have to reach for my glasses anymore. That’s all gone now,” Bruce said. “One of the side benefits is I can choose any kind of sunglasses I want. Before, I was restricted to prescription [sunglasses].
