Successful Co-Creation Workshop at the Living Lab Hamburg Lohbrügge! 🚶♀️🚴♂️ In front of the Max-Eichholtz-Ring primary school, "parent taxis" pose a challenge for schoolchildren. Due to the narrow access road, cars often drive onto sidewalks, creating a safety hazard for the kids. During our workshop, children and parents worked in two groups to develop ideas on how to raise awareness among drivers and encourage more families to opt for walking or cycling to school instead. The children, in particular, contributed many creative ideas using a method developed by our Finnish project partner LUT. Suggestions ranged from issuing "fines" to organizing a "hat parade"—all engaging actions that children can actively participate in. The school principal was enthusiastic about the initiative and emphasized how glad he is that the school is part of the AMIGOS project. A follow-up workshop is planned for June to identify concrete actions that will be implemented in September. Looking forward to the next steps in making school routes safer! 🚸 #CoCreation #LivingLab #SustainableMobility #AMIGOSProject #ActiveMobility #UrbanTransformation #SafeRoutesToSchool #Hamburg #SustainableCities #AMIGOSProject #CIVITASinitiative #ActiveMobility #UrbanMobility #Reallocate #MobilityChallenges

🌍 Last by not least, we are wrapping up our city spotlights today with Hamburg, Germany — also the coordinating city of the AMIGOS project! 🇩🇪 🏙️ Freie und Hansestadt Hamburg’s bustling streets reflect its population of nearly 1.9 million and its status as a European transport crossroads, supported by extensive bus, metro, train, and ferry networks. Yet, the city faces challenges in promoting safe, inclusive, and active mobility, particularly in residential areas where pedestrians, cyclists, and even young children often share the same space. 🔎 In Eimsbüttel, Hamburg’s key safety improvement areas, AMIGOS is piloting a “superblock-inspired” solution to enhance co-habitation among cyclists, pedestrians, and playing children around a local school. 🌍As part of the AMIGOS project, we're excited to share insights into our partner cities and its mobility characteristics. 🚴♂️🚶♀️ 🔎 Today, we turn our attention to Ankara, Turkey! 🇹🇷 🏙️ Ankara, the capital city of Turkey, is characterized by its bustling streets. However, the city faces significant challenges, particularly in its transportation systems. High traffic volumes in key areas lead to congestion, posing safety risks for both pedestrians and cyclists. This is especially concerning in busy districts that cater to tourists and local residents alike. The lack of effective infrastructure for active mobility and the need for improved accessibility create barriers for vulnerable groups, such as children and the elderly. Additionally, the city’s historic districts require careful planning to ensure that any enhancements respect the cultural heritage while providing safer routes for all users. But there is a strong commitment to transforming its transportation landscape to promote safety, accessibility, and sustainable travel options for everyone. 🌟 Explore the detailed city factsheet and our latest deliverable on stakeholder engagement, now available on our website: https://lnkd.in/e5c5pPKw 🌐 #SmartCities #ActiveMobility #Ankara #AMIGOSProject #HorizonEurope
