About us
When you look at Amica, you’ll see we’re different. We’re a mutual company, which means we serve policyholders, not stockholders. Our culture is built on kindness and mutual respect that’s reflected in how we treat our customers and support our people. We offer fair compensation, comprehensive medical coverage, and generous extras like reimbursement for gym fees and student loan repayment assistance. We see the workplace as a place of belonging, where individual differences are acknowledged, unique views are recognized, and employees can be themselves at a company committed to doing the right thing. Amica is the longest-standing mutual insurer of automobiles in the U.S.; we also offer home, life, marine and umbrella insurance, as well as annuities. We’re a direct writer, which means Amica customers deal directly with our employees who provide a responsive and personal experience. Our mission is to create peace of mind and build enduring relationships, and it shows in every aspect of our company, culture and celebrated reputation for service.

Our Women in Leadership Employee Resource Group recently hosted an inspiring virtual panel discussion for employees titled “Strong Minds, Strong Leaders: Prioritizing Wellbeing in Leadership.” Amica leaders on the panel shared valuable insights on fostering a supportive and inclusive environment where team members feel valued and empowered. The discussion also emphasized the significance of self-care – whether through meaningful connections with others or simple moments of reflection, such as taking a walk.

Recently, employees from our Future Leaders Program split up to volunteer at two nonprofits in Rhode Island. They went to Crossroads RI, which is a nonprofit that provides housing and services to those experiencing homelessness. The volunteers were in charge of setting up their pop-up shop for the clients to shop for essential items. At Dorcas, our employees went to their Clothing Collaborative, which provides free work and professional attire for a variety of jobs to low-income individuals who are joining or looking to join the workforce. There they helped to sort and organize the items that would be available for those who need them. Crossroads Rhode Island, Dorcas International Institute of Rhode Island
