Our team members rocked their socks on Friday for World Down Syndrome Awareness Day! The global event encourages people to wear brightly colored and mismatched socks to symbolize the uniqueness of individuals with Down Syndrome.

Last week, our Kids on the Block puppet show made a stop at Wyland Elementary in Hampton Township School District. The show aims to educate students about peers with different abilities through engaging skits about autism, cerebral palsy, hearing and vision impairment, spina bifida, and more. March is National Social Work Month. 🏡 According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the social work profession is projected to grow 7% between now and 2033—faster than the average for all occupations. Our Family Support Services team helps families and children grow stronger, from prevention and reunification services to care coordination services. All of our programs are built around the idea of permanency — supporting safe, nurturing, and lasting families — and putting the health and safety of the child first. This year, we celebrate 35 years since The Children's Institute began opening satellite locations across Western PA! We're proud to help more than 7,400 children and families each year reach their full potential through educational services, autism services, outpatient physical and behavioral health services, early intervention, and family support services.

What is early intervention? ⏳ Early intervention services and supports are available to babies and young children with developmental delays and disabilities and their families. Physical therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, social services, and hearing, vision, and nutrition services are all part of EI. 🍎✏️Today, on #InternationalDayofEducation, we celebrate the power of education to transform lives. At The Children's Institute, we are proud to support nearly 200 students with complex needs each year through our approved private school, The Day School. Every day, we provide specialized education and related services, including autism support and multiple disabilities support, to students from over 60 school districts across Western PA. From ages 5 to 21, each student has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive, no matter their abilities. We believe that every child deserves an education tailored to their unique needs, and we are honored to be part of their educational journey. 🎓📚 #EducationForAll
