  • Meet the 2025 Greater Hartford Walk to #ENDALZ Chair, Lisa Marshall! Lisa was the primary caregiver for her husband, Peter, who was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's at the age of 53. He passed away at 56, just three years and eight months after his diagnosis. Lisa, author of Oh Hello Alzheimer's, is deeply passionate about supporting caregivers. Lisa is a board member, an advocate, a fundraiser for the Connecticut Chapter. As this year's chair, Lisa aims to increase participation by encouraging more individuals to start walk teams or volunteer, while also boosting corporate involvement through sponsorships and corporate walk teams. Join Lisa October 19 at Rentschler Field. Register here: alz.org/walk #walk2endalz #volunteer #walkchair

  • Cuts made today by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) may undermine our nation’s response to the dementia public health crisis. Bipartisan Alzheimer’s programs like the Building Our Largest Dementia (BOLD) Infrastructure for Alzheimer’s program are now at risk due to a reduction in staff and resources. The BOLD program strengthens Alzheimer’s public health efforts, such as increasing early detection and diagnosis, reducing risk and supporting the needs of caregivers. Congress reauthorized BOLD last year with unanimous support thanks to the hard work of our advocates and congressional champions. Without BOLD, people may not have the information to make brain healthy choices to reduce their risk of Alzheimer’s, and be less likely to get a diagnosis or seek treatment. You can help. Take action NOW to urge your members of Congress to defend the bipartisan BOLD program: bit.ly/4lrHEpI. #BOLDAlzheimersAct

  • Please welcome your 2025 Western CT Walk to End Alzheimer's Chair: Kristine Dahl This will be her 5th Walk and she is proud to spearhead Paint The Town Purple in her region. "This organization is very dear to my heart as my grandmother, Isabel Cronin, suffered from Alzheimer's for 16 years before succumbing to the disease at the age of 92. Her long, painful struggle has fueled my passion to get involved. My wish is for a world without this devastating illness. But I can't do this alone. Please join me at the Western CT Walk to End Alzheimer's on Sunday, September 21 at New Fairfield High School. And together, let's End Alzheimer's!"
