In 2023, the agency adopted AlphaRoute’s Non-Dedicated Service Provider (NDSP) Optimization tool to streamline trip planning and boost efficiency. Optimizing the Largest Paratransit System in North America AlphaRoute was thrilled to be named a finalist in the 2024 Transit Tech Lab "Resilience Challenge," where we partnered with New York City Transit (NYCT) / Metropolitan Transportation Authority to tackle the optimization of the largest paratransit system in North America. After a new record of 38,800 paratransit rides scheduled in a single day (yes, in one day!), we took on the challenge of transforming NYCT’s paratransit efficiency.
