BREAKING: Livia Tossici-Bolt has been CONVICTED. Christian retiree Dr. Livia Tossici-Bolt has been ordered to pay £20,000 in prosecution costs—simply for offering a consensual conversation outside an abortion facility. HER “CRIME”? Holding a sign that read: “Here to talk, if you want.” The sign made no reference to pregnancy, abortion, or religion, and a council officer testified that he did not witness her intimidating or harassing anyone. 💰 This retiree has to cover this cost herself. Absolutely outrageous. This is precisely why the U.S. State Department has raised concerns about freedom of expression in the UK and has been monitoring Livia's case. A South Carolina statute prohibits the use of taxpayer funds to pay for abortions. And because money is fungible, funneling taxpayer funds to abortion facilities for any purpose indirectly subsidizes abortions. Because of this, South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster ordered the state’s Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) to deem abortion facilities, including Planned Parenthood, unqualified to receive Medicaid funding if they continue performing abortions. This change redirects Medicaid funds from abortion providers to health clinics that provide a wider range of medical services for low-income women. ADF is representing South Carolina and oral arguments will take place April 2, 2025. 🙏
